Irving & Jessica | Wedding at The Roostertail | September 25th 2020
Irving & Jessica were originally planning a tropical destination wedding, but unfortunately 2020 had other plans. Instead of postponing they ended up keeping things local, but now they had a shorter amount of time to get everything together. While it wasn’t what they originally wanted, their Detroit wedding had the feel of a tropical destination without ever having the leave the city.
The ceremony took place at St. Augustine St. Monica Roman Catholic Church. From there we had limited time to get photos before the reception started, but we had timed out different locations we wanted to go, so I was confident we could get all the photos they wanted in the short amount of time. Our first stop was the lobby of the Fisher Building. Thankfully it was not busy when we were there so they were able to take their masks off for a few photos and then we were off to the next location. Our other stop was Parkers Alley behind the Shinola Hotel. Irving and Jessica were naturals in front of the camera which made it even easier to capture a lot of different looking images in a very short amount of time.
The reception was at The Roostertail on the outdoor deck. The deck is right on the Detroit River which definitely helped make it feel more like a destination wedding.
There are so many great moments from the day it’s hard to choose, but these are some of my favorites.
