Should I hire a photographer for my proposal?

You’re planning to propose to your partner in the near future. You have the ring, you have the date, and you have the location.

Do you have a photographer?

A photographer may not be something you’re thinking of for the proposal, but it’s become more common than not to hire a professional to capture the moment.

But Why?

As someone who has photographed dozens of proposals, including my brothers, there are several reasons it’s a good idea to have one.

The biggest reason, in my opinion, is to look back and relive the moment whenever you want. During the proposal you’ll get caught in the moment and the next thing you know it’s over. When you have the photos to look back at you can relive the moment whenever you want. You also are able to share the photos with all your family and friends without having them there. This keeps the proposal that much more personal for you and your partner.

Another reason to hire a photographer is they can help you in the planning process. Maybe you have this great idea in mind of how and where to propose, but aren’t sure when the best time of day is. You also may want to make sure the spot you choose isn’t flooded with other people. A photographer can help set you up for success.

Whenever I photograph a proposal, I make sure to include some time immediately after for a mini engagement session of sorts. Giving you all social media content you could ask for without having to settle for phone photos.

No matter your plan, having a photographer will never be a regrettable decision.
